Not enough time.....

Maggie will be 8 months old on the 24th. Its crazy. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. She has two teeth now. Its her bottom two and they are crazy adorable! She babbles all the time. Gaga, mama, dada, yaya, lala, thats mostly it. The occasional goo will come out. She loves the dog. Everytime he walks in the room she starts to crack up laughing. Im talking all out belly laugh! She is running every aspect of our lives. She knows when we say no. She will look at us and start to pucker up and the alligator tears come out. We sweep her up into our arms and hug her. How can we say no to that adorable little face? People have been telling us that we are doing this all wrong, but we are her parents and it doesn't feel wrong to us. It does feel wrong to leave her alone in another room to cry because thats what they say to do. So for now I don't care what people say I love the feel of my baby laying next to me in my bed. I love the fact that I don't have to wake up to get a bottle I can nurse her right there and then we both go back to sleep in each others arms. After years of not knowing what that little body would turn into when it got here why rush it away. Let her know her parents. Ok. now mommy is babbling. Im going to bed where my sleeping baby is a foot away from me in her bassinet and when we wake up at 11 I will lay her next to me. And as long as this is ok for us now we will keep doing this.

Christmas 2008

Now that the holidays are finally over I can post. I wanted to wait until we loaded some pics of Maggie and they turned out great!
We had a great Christmas. It seems that waking parents up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning starts as early as possible. Maggie had us up at 4:30. After convincing her that sleep was still an option we were able to get another hour and a half more. We got the stockings out and she thought that was really tasty!
We then loaded the car and headed to grandma and grandpas house for presents and breakfast. She really enjoyed grabbing the bright wrapping paper and sticking it in her mouth. I think at one point her face was green. Halfway through opening presents she fell fast asleep in my arms and didn't wake up until we tried to give her to daddy!
New Years was also exciting. She was awake at midnight screaming. She is right in the middle of teething so the whole family is pretty miserable right now.

Milestones

Travis and I are so enthrolled with every little thing that Maggie does. Its a huge day when she starts moving a rattle in her hand to her mouth. We sat on the floor this morning and waited and cheered for her to roll over. She didn't. But she did push up on her hands. It just makes me sit back and wonder, 'did our parents ever sit like this and do this with us?' I can't wait for the day that we can sit across the room from each other and cheer her on to walk back and forth between us. Or the day she learns to ride a bike, or? Well we will just leave it there. This could make me start crying to see to far into the future. All I can wish for is that moments like this will keep us smiling and keep us going strong.

A day in the life

So I am hoping that this blog will keep all of the family members posted on what our life is doing. Things are changing so rapidly in our house that we are barely keeping up with it ourselves, yet trying to keep others involved is becoming a task that is slipping from our grasp.

We can't believe that Maggie will be 5 months old on the 24th. Its crazy. The time has gone by so quickly. She is finally starting to roll over. When she wants to of course and usually it's just because she wants to be off of her tummy. She started squealing in delight today. Its so funny. You can tell when she has discovered a new tone in her vocal chords because she will use that for about 2 days. Todays new sound is high pitched. Its adorable, but loud. The doc says that she needs to be rolling over both ways and doing tripod before her 6 month checkup but she hates tummy time so getting her to roll over is oh so much fun and I don't even know if she could begin to do tripod if she wanted to. I guess that we will just see what happens.

Travis finally put in his two week notice at Target. He will be starting at Wells Fargo soon. This is a huge transition for him. I am so proud that he is finally starting down a career path that will be out of retail. I think that he is nervous. He does so good in most everything that he sets his mind to so I don't have a doubt in that. He just needs to get his feet wet and keep moving! He was so nervous with how he would do as a dad and he is amazing at it! So I know he will do good here too!

Okay, its late. The screen is starting to become 2 and I need to feed the baby! Until next time.....
